Week 1 of Going Back to Work

Wow... is all I have to say!!
Working and having a baby is tough stuff!!

Things I've learned so far...
-my house will never be clean again
-laundry will never ever be completed
-I will be tired for the rest of my life
-every single minute/second counts
-cheese dip on the couch with the hubby counts as dinner

We made it through our first week of going back to work but it has been so hard. I've learned that once you have a baby minimal sleep will get you sooo far. Thankfully, Harper is a great sleeper and a happy baby but my workload at school has me up at all hours of the night. I keep telling myself it will get better and with time I will get the hang of it. Yesterday, we had "Meet The Teacher" and it seems as though I have some sweet students.

Harper's Baptism

On Sunday, Harper was baptized at St.Timothy by her Great Uncle Steve. It was a beautiful ceremony and we had over 40 family members come for lunch at our house. Daddy cooked brisket and it was yummy! It was a wonderful day with family as we celebrated this special event in Harper Lynn's life. She looked beautiful in my little baptismal gown that I wore when I was a baby.

Back to School

Well, I made it through my first day back to work/school.

It was one of the hardest things I have had to do....leave my precious baby with her babysitter for the first time all day long. Mommy was crying and Harper was smiling!

When I picked her up today, she greeted me at the door and was smiling so much. I then hugged her and she held on tightly. It was the BEST feeling in the world!!!

Mrs. Lindsey said she did great and even took a two hour nap this afternoon. I love my good little baby :)

It's going to be very hard trying to juggle work, baby and my master's program but somehow, someway we will make it through!!!! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

I know Scott's eyes are closed but we took the little family photo last week.

Harper's Two Month Appointment

I took Harper to Dr. Rose today for her 2 month check up and shots. She was a trooper and handled everything well. She weighs 11.5 lbs and is 23.5 inches long. Dr. Rose said she'll be a leaner baby since she has some height on her. She defiantly didn't get the height from her Mom and Dad! Harper's been snoozing most of the day and has been smiling for me so thankfully I know the shots didn't hurt her too bad!

I go back to work Monday and it's going to be so hard to leave my sweet baby. She's so fun to be around lately "talking" and "smiling". Such a happy and sweet baby. She'll be hanging with her buddy Aden during the day while I'm at work. I worked with Lindsey at Rosehill and she had Aden four weeks before I had Harper. She has decided to stay home and offered to keep Harper. I feel so blessed that everything worked out and I know Harper will be in great hands and have a buddy to "talk" and "smile" with.

And because it's much easier keeping up and updating Harper on this blog rather than the baby book, here is an overload of Harper pictures...

River Fun

July has been super busy with my master's classes and wanting to spend as much time with my little Harper before I have to go back to work but last weekend Scott and I were able to get away for a little bit for our annual river trip. Harper stayed with my Mom and was a good little girl. We had a great time and I enjoyed seeing everyone!

Harper is 2 Months!

Sweet Baby Girl Harper is two months! She is really starting to develop a personality and she loves to make silly noises, smile and take a bath. She's also pretty good at giving a good bottom pouty lip when she's not happy and she continues to sleep through the night. Today Harper went with me to my school and we worked in the classroom for a little bit. Love you Baby Girl!
