Reflections of Motherhood

Yesterday, Harper had a long and fussy day where she ate all day, cried and refused to sleep. It was tough but she finally calmed down and went willingly to bed for the night around 9:00.

After I put her down, I went blog hopping and I found the best you tube video for new Moms out there. It was great to see after a long, hard day. If your not a Mom yet, you should still watch it because all of it will be VERY handy one day!

Check it out....

Motherhood is the HARDEST job I have ever had. It is 100 times harder than teaching a room full of 22 Third Graders. However, it is also the best blessing I have ever had. Some days I feel like I have no idea what the hell I am doing and nothing I do is right. I've learned to trust my instinct and just give Harper love. I know I'll figure things out and seeing this video reassures me that I'm not the only one that feels completely lost in this new journey!

And the best part is that Harper let me sleep until 4:45 before she woke up to eat!

Three weeks and growing!

Harper is three weeks old today and over the past few days, she seems like she has really grown. I've been dressing her up every day and taking pictures. She's probably tired of me being in her face all the time! I've been reading to her every morning and she seems to really love this time. She also loves to be outside and hang out in the nude.

Getting ready to take my first trip to Nada!My decorative foot gear.
I never posted pictures of Harper's nursery. These pictures really are not good and her nursery is much cuter in person. Harper had newborn pictures done when she was a week old so I'm hoping to get some of those to add to the walls. They're still a little empty. Our awesome black and white rocker is also still downstairs in our room since she's sleeping in our room for about another week or so. I also need to get a small bookcase for all her books.

Harper's Two Week Appointment

Harper had her two week appointment today and she did really great. I was so proud of my baby girl. She weighs 8.1 lbs and is now 20 1/4 inches long. I was so relieved to hear that she is growing. It defiantly has been a stressful first two weeks getting her schedule down!

Harper loves to be out and about so we've started taking her out more. She also loves to be outside so I'm hoping she'll be a river/beach girl one day like her momma. She's been sleeping great at night and I'm crossing my fingers it stays that way :) Tomorrow, we're going on our first trip to Nada.

Some pictures of her first two weeks...

Welcome to the World Harper Lynn Friedrichs

We welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world Thursday, June 2nd at 7:24 pm. She weighed in at 8 lbs and measured 19.5 inches long. She is so beautiful and absolutely amazing.

My water broke early Thursday morning and after 12 hours of labor and 1.5 hours of pushing we finally got to meet our precious baby.

Scott has been such a wonderful Dad to Miss Harper. It is the most precious thing to see. She is our true gift from God.
