Looking Back on 2011

We were truly blessed in 2011!! It was a great year for our marriage, family and life in general.

In January, we found out that our bundle of joy would be a baby girl. We named her Harper Lynn after Harper, Texas. We were overjoyed with excitement but a little apprehensive because the doctor noticed something on Harper's heart. We went to a specialist and they assured us that nothing was wrong and that our baby girl was healthy and strong.

February brought Tiffany and Drew's wedding and we started packing up our little two bedroom house.

We finally moved into a dream home where we would be able to raise our family on a nice, quiet street. March was a great month for us because of the move, however, my pregnancy started to get really tough and hard. My body was not being very nice to me and I was so emotional!

In April, we began to work on our house and get ready for baby girl. I had so much fun planning her nursery. We also were very grateful to have many showers and everyone was so generous. God blessed us with many loving family and friends.

I started making progress with the arrival of baby girl in May and Yao Ming visited our school! We were getting antsy because we knew Harper was coming soon!!

On June 2nd my water broke at 6:30am and Harper Lynn entered the world at 7:24 pm weighing 8lbs and measuring 19.5 inches long. Harper's birth was the most amazing experience Scott and I could have ever dreamed for. We were blessed with a true gift from God. The month of June was amazing (and scary at times!).

In July, I celebrated my birthday and Harper began to experience the world! She went swimming, shopping and began to sleep in her crib like a big girl!

I went back to work in August and Harper starting going to my friend Lindsey's house. We are so thankful for Mrs. Lindsey and Aden. Harper loves them very much. We also went on our annual River Trip and celebrated Harper's Baptism. I started my last semester of grad school!

Tut and La were married in September and Harper started to roll over. We also attended the annual Nada Picnic!

In October, Harper's first tooth appeared and she visited her first pumpkin patch. We started baby food and she started to make her sweet giggle sounds. Scott also trapped his first gofer!

My precious nephew, Wade Micheal was born November 2nd, exactly 5 months after Harper! I can't wait for them to grow up together. We attended cousin Matt and Melissa's wedding and went Black Friday shopping. Harper also met Clifford the Big Red Dog and Geronimo Stilton at my school's Family Education Night. I was able to attend and work at a Bookfest in San Anontio and met some awesome authors. November was a busy month for us!

I finished my Library Science Master's Degree in December and it was so awesome to have Harper, Scott, Nanny, Papa and my parents there. We celebrated with a dinner at Papadeaux. Harper turned 6 months old and began crawling. Christmas was so wonderful this year with our baby girl and family.

Lots of blessings in 2011. Looking forward t0 2012. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year!

Big girl!

My mom and dad gave our family an iPad for Christmas and we are loving it. I want to use it as a learning tool for Harper and we have already starting practicing. She can "paint" on it and play this peek a boo game so far. We also bought the car mount so Harper can watch movies on our many travels.

Harper has her "b" sound down and really enjoys saying "ba ba ba". She has can motion or sign "more" with her hands and it's the cutest thing. We're working on waving and since she's full force crawling she will go anywhere and put ANYthing in her mouth!!! I think its also time to lower her crib :( Her dad also likes to copy cat her grunting sounds she makes. I love every stage but I love how absorbent they can be at this age.

We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and I have lots of pictures to post but that will come soon. I am loving this time off with my baby girl and thanking God for my wonderful job that allows me to be with Harper as much as possible.

Thank you Grandma

We won't be able to be at Grandma Friedrichs for Christmas Eve this year so Harper and I visited her today. She made Harper the cutest scarf and hat that we will treasure forever. Love you!

Thanks Pinterest!

Pinterest gave me a great recipe tonight and the idea to make these cute guys for a gift. Our soup was similar to the enchilada soup from Chili's and how cute are these little reindeer!

Having fun!

I have been off all the week and it has been so wonderful being with Harper and tending to the house. I've even cooked a few meals which definitely scored some points with Scott. I look forward to cooking more now that I won't have to work on assignments at night.

I'm done with work and school and I feel fabulous! Im a very stressful person and I haven't felt this good in a long time!!!! Life is good.

Harper and I tackled some Christmas shopping this morning after a little breakfast at Starbucks. I also let her ride in a shopping cart like a big girl. She had so much fun. And yes, I have a cart cover but it wasn't with me. I figured a little bit of germs wouldn't hurt her!

6 Months

Harper had her 6 month check up and things went well. She had her booster shots, weighs 16 pounds and is 26 inches long. She still just has her two teeth but I think she's got another few that are wanting to come in.

She's becoming such a big a girl. She can scoot around on her hand and knees but I wouldn't actually call it crawling yet. She loves her food and has cut back on the amount of bottles she's usually been taking. Harper also LOVES to stand on her feet all the time and gets mad when I don't let her. Even sitting her down in the bathtub can be a struggle. I think I have a very strong willed and busy girl on my hands.

We visited Santa on Saturday but I'm waiting on my Mom to send the pictures. This weekend we are finally staying in town and doing some shopping and decorating.

I also received Harper's 6 month pictures and LOVE them but I haven't ordered them yet or sent out my Christmas cards so I'll wait to post them. I'm loving dressing her up in all the cute Christmas attire.

Some old and new pictures!

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Obviously the most important is the gift of our baby girl. She brings so much joy into our lives and I feel so honored to be her mother.

I also became an aunt to sweet baby Wade and got a new sister in law this year! God is good and we are thanking him for our many blessings.

We spent Thanksgiving day in Tomball and then headed to Nada for supper at memo and popo's. Lots of good family time!

Wade had his first sleep overs at Gigi's while Kevin and Alyson went to the big game. We had a great night with both babies.

We left for our annual black Friday shopping around 9:00 and Harper lasted all day. She was a good girl and we had a wonderful day with nanny, my aunts and cousins.
