November Blues by Sharon M. Draper

November Blues is an award winning book receiving the Coretta Scott King Honor Award.

Honestly, Realistic Fiction is my all time favorite genre and even though this book was not one of my favorites, I still enjoyed reading it and and loved the reality that it brought with it.

November loses her boyfriend to a tragic high school mishap and three months later she finds out that she's pregnant with his child. November and her single mother struggle with the reality of a teenage pregnancy and November is then faced with a huge decision. Her deceased, boyfriend's parents want custody of the child but in the end November follows her heart.

I enjoyed the teenage pregnancy story line but was not that interested in the side stories that were taking place.
