Today the kids finally came back to school! The last day they were in school was September 11th..isn't that crazy! It was great to see all my students again and hear their stories. Some students and teachers STILL don't have electricity or water!

Scott was able to redo our fence over the weekend and it looks great! I love that he's such a handy-man. I will post pictures of our new fence soon. It's really nice.

We are still searching for new floors for my living/dining area so in the mean time, I have concrete floors :(

The insurance company is taking a little longer than we thought and we may not see anything for a month or so :(

As I'm blogging right now, the girls are on the top of the couch kissing and giving each other a teeth cleaning. I think they really love each other :)

Ike in Pictures- Part II

This is what we saw on the way to my house.

This was the entrance to my neighborhood.
Our one little tree :(

The fence in the backyard.

Smelly wet carpet.

Can you see the 2 pups? They don't enjoy the concrete floor.

Ike in Pictures- Part I

I downloaded my pictures from my camera but I'm still trying to figure out how to get our video camera on the computer.

The first 3 pictures are from Scott's house in Rosehill.

These pictures are of Scott's neighborhood.

This is FM 2920, a main road heading into Tomball.

The Rav 4 drove through this! Very scary!

i'm back!

I'm finally back! I've missed my computer so much!

Well, Ike did more damage than I would have ever imagined.

Today, we finally got power back!! I am soooo thankful.

I would have NEVER imagined any of whats been going on since Friday.

We rode out the storm at Scott's parents house and lost power around 4:00 am (Saturday morning). It rained ALL day Saturday and finally around 2:00 pm we were able to leave his house and go and check out my house. We were totally blocked in at his house and them some nice man came with his tractor and moved all the huge trees of the road. Going through Tomball was CRAZY! It was flooding and there was water everyone. It was so scary. We finally made it to my house and I couldn't believe it. I have to have my roof replaced, our fence in the back was cratered down, our one tree was split in half and we had water that came in from under our door and window in the back. Our carpet was wet and honestly I was in shock. Saturday we took all the meat out of the freezer and headed back to Scott's house. Scott and I then headed to Nada to get two generators, ice and water. We knew we would be out of power for awhile.

Since Saturday, we have been at Scott's parents house living on the generator. I am so thankful no one was hurt but I honestly thought nothing would have ever happened to my house.

Today I'm back at my house and things are starting to feel a little normal. We removed our carpet, cut down half the tree and are picking up all the stuff in our yard.

Thank you so much to all who sent text messages and called. I still don't have the greatest service but it's getting better every day. Love you all.

I'll post pictures and video later today.

Ike is coming and he looks nasty. I'm at Scott's parents house and we are expecting lots and rain and wind.

This last week of school was better. 10 fewer kids really makes a difference!

Relief is on the way!

Tuesday, our new 3rd grade teacher starts! I will lose about 10 students and finally have a normal size classroom. I'm sad because it will be a hard change for the students but I really can't wait! It's so hard to give 28 students(morning class) and 26 students(afternoon class) the attention they really need.

I already feel less stressed just thinking about it!

And I made it through my first Parent Orientation and it went pretty well!

Third Grade

I showed this picture of me in third grade to my students and they laughed. (Sorry about the cropping, somethings wrong with my computer.)

On the road again...

Luckily, Skylar likes the car just as much as Honey does. They're great car riders and sleep most of the way. We went to Nada over the weekend and here's a few of the girls.

Little Girl

Recent pictures of the little girl...

My first week of school was more stressful than I would have ever imagined. I can only hope it gets better and supposedly it does. Scott sent me this beautiful basket of flowers on the first day. They were so pretty!
