Happy 1st Birthday Harper!

Our sweet baby girl is one today!  She has brought so much joy to our family and we love her to pieces!

Last Day Email

I received this email from one of my hard working, struggling students this evening. Just a sweet, kind young girl who I adore.

 This makes my job so worth it. Couldn't see myself doing anything other in the world!

Tomorrow is our last day with the kids.  I had a busy, rambunctious group this year but I will never forget them!

Princess Dress

We finally took pictures in the beautiful dress Aunt Aly gave us.  I think it's just precious.  Thank you Aunt Aly! 

 As a reward, we played in the little pool.  Of course, she found the slide and we probably let her slide for a whole hour.  This kid loves to slide.

School Picture

Harper took school pictures back in March but I finally scanned in her class picture.  It just cracks me up!

We have our final two weeks at Step by Step and I'm a little sad that Harper won't get to hang out with Mrs. Small and her friends anymore.  I was very anxious sending Harper to daycare but they absolutely love (and spoil) her and it has turned out to be a wonderful thing.  Harper loves Mrs. Small and she treats Harper as if she is her baby.  The other day Mrs. Small called Harper "our" baby.  

Lost Pines

Last weekend Mom took Alyson and I to the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop.  Wade and Harper had a great time and we even got away for an hour long massage!  The place is super kid friendly and we're already planning our next year's trip.  THANK YOU MOM!

At home, when I put Harper to bed I just put her in the crib and shut the door.  Well, in a hotel room there's no door to shut so I improvised and stuck her pack in play in the closet!

Beach Baby

We took Harper for her first beach trip this past weekend.  It was a great time but Harper's cough and runny nose is back in action so she was not in the greatest mood.  She was throwing a fit when we tried to get her and Wade's pictures together in their matching outfits.  It was also our first time to stay in a hotel with Harper which was also interesting!

I did have a wonderful Mother's Day and received a beautiful bracelet from Scott and Harper. It was a great weekend!

 These kids are still infatuated with their Easter eggs.  It's the toy of choice around here!

This one is for Uncle Mobo.  We took a picture on his pirate ship!

 We have a full time walker nowadays.  She races to our stairs and can climb to the first landing within seconds.  We have to use the gate all the time now.  I can't keep up with this toot.  I told Scott the other day that it is easier controlling 43 3rd graders than it is my Harper Lynn :)

This year I was lucky enough to mentor a wonderful new teacher.  Mandy teaches 3rd grade with me and was chosen as "Rookie Teacher of the Year."  I was so proud of her and honored to be her mentor!  We were invited to a board meeting tonight.

After, we went to dinner and Harper wanted to run so Scott took her out while I waited on the check.  I came to the car and found Harper with several bows on her head.  He said she kept handing them to her and wanting him to put them in her hair.  She knows what's best for her :)
